Q&A
It’s all in the preparation
Operation Volume begins in the shower! Avoid using an overly moisturizing shampoo so that you don’t weigh down your hair. Apply just a small amount of conditioner on the ends.
Apply a volumizing mousse on damp hair to lift the roots. On the lengths, try a densifying lotion or spray which will thicken the hair.
There’s a tool for everyone
You can’t go wrong with a blow dryer and a good thermal brush! Choose a wide brush if your hair is long. A traditional blowout requires a bit more coordination and can be difficult for some. Our solution? A hot air brush!
This 2-in-1 tool is a dryer and brush to simplify and speed up the process. It gives you impressive volume and movement. Our current favourite is Hot Tools Black Gold One Step Blowout Brush.
At this stage, you can add curls or smooth the lengths as you like.
Volume that lasts!
Your hair has great volume. Fabulous! Now, how to get the results to last longer than a bottle of rosé during a Friday night with the girls?
First, easy on the hairspray (yes!) and make sure to hold the bottle at a good distance. Above all, you don’t want stiff hair. You want soft hair with body. You can also swap your favourite lacquer for a texturizing spray that will give hold to your hair and add volume.
For a va-va-voom crimping effect, a mattifying powder is a must! If you’re not a fan of this type of product, dry shampoo will be your best friend.
