Q&A
You may have heard of micellar water. This transparent liquid that looks exactly like water will amaze you by how effective and beneficial it is.
What is it, exactly?
Micellar water is a liquid solution made up of small particles called micelles. These act as magnets that trap impurities (sebum, grime, sweat, etc.). Micellar water is also extremely effective as a makeup remover.
Due to the growing popularity of this purifying water, haircare companies have added micellar water to some of their shampoos. The results? Very mild clarifying shampoos that eliminate the buildup of impurities and styling products on hair and scalp. To learn more on this, we suggest your read our article on Skinification.
Who should use it?
Micellar water is super mild, therefore, suitable for all skin types. Traditional cleansers tend to dry skin, whereas micellar water leaves skin supple and moisturized. Being non-comedogenic, it’s ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. It leaves no pore-clogging residues.
How is it used?
You apply it on a makeup remover pad and then gently scrub your face to reveal skin that’s clean, fresh and supple. There’s no need to rinse off micellar water, so this solution is great for cleansing your face on the go.
If you’re wearing heavy makeup, it’s recommended to combine micellar water with a makeup remover to completely eliminate all traces of product on the skin. To remove waterproof mascara, you’ll need an oil-based cleanser.
In the morning, before applying moisturizer, give your face a quick cleanse with micellar water for a routine that’s ultra-fast and just as effective.
